Why join the workshop?
What determines the success of a person? Is it high IQ? Social intelligence? Good looks? Physical health? Perhaps. But recent psychological studies have shown that one of the most significant predictors of success is GRIT i.e., passion and perseverance toward long-term goals* (Duckworth, 2013). Filipinos have been described as resilient people many times over. But are we gritty enough?
The good news is that grit is teachable and can be learned!
In this whole-day program for young students, we seek to deepen our understanding of both grit and resilience, how they can be learned and nurtured at home, in school, and in our leadership roles, and how to develop an overall Growth Mindset (Dweck, 2015) towards everything that we set our minds and hearts to.
This leadership workshop will include fun games and icebreakers, the grit test, reflection and journaling, goal setting exercises and practical tips, and small and big group sharings. It promises to be an interactive and dynamic day!
